VPN disconnect in MAC

I faced this issue of vpn gets discoinnected after couple of minutes in my Macbook. I tried pinging the server and observerd that there are few timeouts

64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=156 ttl=62 time=39.137 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=157 ttl=62 time=49.119 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=158 ttl=62 time=46.647 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=159 ttl=62 time=37.752 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=160 ttl=62 time=45.811 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.20.84: icmp_seq=161 ttl=62 time=48.094 ms

“Renew DHCP lease” under network preferences(ethernet/wifi) -> advanced -> tcp ip solved this issue.
